Health Information Australia

Health Information Australia understands the link between health literacy and health outcomes. The higher the health literacy level, the better the health outcome for individuals and the community.

“Our aim is to improve the health literacy of Australian’s. In doing so, we aim to improve Australia’s health outcomes.” Simon Carroll – Director Health Information Australia

Health Information Australia aims to achieve this through two innovative pathways:

First, direct consumer access to health information that is easy to read, evidence based, current and reliable.
In today’s technology driven world, we are over loaded with content in a variety of formats, from multiple channels. Information is available everywhere.
Health Information Australia’s website for consumers is designed to draw together in one place reliable, credible information from well known, reputable Australian health information and health support organisations.

Second, Health Information Australia’s brochures, available in pharmacies and other health care providers. Connecting health consumers with the right information, at the right time, is critical to improving health outcomes. Reliable content which can be trusted, accessible at the point of counseling or consultation, provides them with the resources to be informed, build their health knowledge and most importantly be an empowered health advocate for themselves.

Health Information Australia is an independent provider of premium health related content to pharmacies and other health practices. As a service provider to health care businesses, our aim is to inform, educate and empower people to lead healthier lives and live well.

We are a socially responsible enterprise. We pride ourselves on operating our business based on five key principles:

  • Ethical practice
  • Consumer centered
  • Socially responsible
  • Innovative design and delivery
  • Environmentally aware

Health Information Australia operates as a social enterprise supporting the education and health of children in developing countries.
